On the 30th of September 2019 we had our Harvest Festival in church, it was organised by Miss Kendall and the pupil Values group. During the service we had a visit from a member of Trussell Trust who explained how important it is to donate food during harvest. She talked about how little food the food bank has and that lots of people need help at the moment but are too ashamed to ask. That’s why it is so important for us to bring in donations of food.
We sang lots of songs and listened to the ‘Parable of the Sower’. It reminds us that God looks after us and we will grow with Him if we listen to and learn from Him.
At the end of the service Reverend Wendy came and blessed a loaf of bread which is known as the harvest loaf. This was then shared with all pupils in school during the day, mmmm! The harvest celebration this year was amazing, our favourite songs were Harvest Samba, Autumn days and Diolch Diolch Yesi.
”While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease” Genesis 8:22
